Having children is one of those things that you would never regret but no one ever tells you the real facts. Facts like when you have a baby you will be invited or will attend numerous coffee mornings with cake and biscuits! Your belly becomes a jelly wobble! You’re too tired and busy to exercise! Your boobs never go back to their original shape and size! You pee when you sneeze or laugh. Even your feet change size (or is that just me!?).

Before I had my two children I was extremely fit, wore Ted Baker clothes and high heel shoes and regularly had my waxing done and my eye lashes tinted! Nowadays I seem to barely have time to trim my nails! My clothing is now from Asda George and I wear trainers or flip flops! Wow, I’m depressing myself!

My oldest child has just turned 3 years old and my youngest has just turned 11 months. I figured it was time I regained some of my original self and got my fit, slim and groomed body back!

Being a Nutritionist I do generally eat very well although I must admit that since I’ve had my children I had many a time when I’ve felt tired and in need of a boost so have grabbed a cup of tea and a biscuit and have even taken to the weekly ritual of having a glass of wine or two when the kids have gone to bed in order to relax! Combine this with severe sleep deprivation and the lack of energy to exercise it has been all too easy to sit on the sofa and watch the TV.

It occurred to me that I am not alone and many of you will be relating to this true and honest story! It is all too easy to get on the slippery slope to bad eating habits with a lack of exercise and a culture of always putting yourself last after your children and husband or partner! I’ve even seen a number of Mum’s that make sure that their children eat properly but fail to do so themselves.

Being a Mum is the hardest job you will ever do!

If like me you are fed up with being a Frumpy Mummy and would like to be a Yummy Mummy, then I have some good news. I am currently under-going a diet, exercise and grooming plan that I have devised. I am testing it on myself and then I will release it online. The diet will be easy to follow and incorporate in to your family life, the exercises will be simple, easy to fit in to a busy schedule and above all FREE and then on top of that there will be special offers with local businesses to get your hair and waxing done plus other great ‘me time’ activities.

I am one week in and can honestly say I’ve been feeling so much better. I’ve been out running for the first time using a free app called couch to 5K and have ensured that I’ve eaten well and often without the need to grab any ‘naughties’.

I will be blogging about my own experience and if I can do it then YOU can do it. Give me the thumbs up if you like what you read.

Brilliant Julie! You’re hardly grumpy but I know what you mean! Us mum’s don’t put ourselves first! Good luck and I’ll look forward to trying the plan! X
