Meal Plan your way to a stress-free Christmas

There is no doubt that this month is going to be incredibly busy. There are 3 weeks left until the big day and quite often there’s so much focus on Christmas dinner itself everything else goes out of the window.

One way to reduce your stress, your food shopping bill and food waste is to meal plan.

Meal planning will help because:

1.       You will eliminate waste

2.       You will not need to impulse buy at the last minute

3.       You will not be grabbing something when you are hungry

4.       You will reduce the number of ready meals and takeaways you buy

5.       You can stick to a budget

6.       You’re less likely to skip meals

7.       You are more likely to opt for healthy meals

Meal planning does not have to be difficult. Start by downloading my free  recipes & meal planner HERE

First add your three main ‘every week’ meals. The ones you always use, the easy ones, the ones everyone will eat and the ones that you can cook with your eyes closed.

Next look at what activities are happening that week and then add in the other days to suit YOUR schedule. For example, Monday is always super busy for me after the school pick up. This is because both children have swimming lessons and we get home late. On Monday’s I always have a quick option or a meal prepared in the slow cooker.

Once you have your meals planned you can write your shopping list and then go through your cupboards and fridge to check your supplies. Then to make it even easier and to avoid temptation book an online delivery. The sections on the planner correspond to the sections on all the online shopping supermarkets.

I can promise you that taking just a little time every week to do this will reduce your stress levels. You can feel completely content in the knowledge that you know what’s for dinner and you will have all the ingredients.

So, go grab a cup of tea (or whatever you like), print off the recipes & planner and give it a go.

I’m a huge fan of meal planning to alleviate the stress of trying to figure out what to feel my family every day. If I force myself to sit down and think it all through properly for a few dedicated minutes, it saves me so much headspace the whole rest of the week! Sharing this with my Project Me mama tribe. 🙂
